As you may or may not have noticed, today is rather warm and the Prior Conservatories team are melting in amongst hot computers and printers. It has to be said that it is probably hotter outside. This time of year a conservatory can become like a blast furnace if a little forward planning has not gone into designing it.
Obviously if it is South facing, some sort of reflective polycarbonate roofing such as 'heat guard' will have been used, or in the case of a glass roof, one of the antisun grades of glass. It is a good idea when planning your conservatory to look at the opening top light and their position in relation to the French doors.
You will be aiming to cet a through current of air to keep the heat at bay. On a conservatory with a high roof, such as an Edwardian, Victorian or Gable fronted one, the heat is trapped higher up. In these cases roof vents can be very usefull. Not only will they release the heat out of the top of the conservatory but will also pull air in through the doors and open windows.
Another popular addition is an air conditioning unit, readily available from the larger DIY stores. In conjunction with the above your conservatory will be an ideal place to relax and party!
