FRENCH DOOR FLAG HINGE ADJUSTMENTS

Thursday August 11, 2011 at 2:57pm

We are always on the lookout for making our PVCu DIY conservatories a little better than the rest and recently we decided to use a different flag hinge on our French doors. This new one is slightly more robust and easier to adjust if the doors settle a little.

There does, howver, seem to be a little confusion, not about adjusting them, but how to get inside them for adjustment. So follow these steps... Open the doors so thay you can see the square recess on the inside of the hinge. With a flat bladed screwdriver, put the blade into the recess at a slight angle and lay the shaft of the screwdriver against the round hinge part. With a gentle push, the outer cover of the hinge will move forward and you can then swing it out of the way.

To close the hinge cover back up, simply click it back into the original position - job done. If you are still having trouble, call us and we will email a pictorial guide to you which explains all of the adjustments available. Very easy when you know how!
