Whenever we send out a quote for one of our Prior DIY conservatories, we always email a small leaflet with the quote detailing the advantages of our PVCu double glazed energy rated windows. This leads to mote than the odd telephone call with people saying, 'I don't want windows, I only wanted the conservatory.'
Strangely enough, in most cases if you have the conservatory without the windows, there is not a lot left to hold up the roof which could conceivably be rather dangerous! We include the leaflet because the windows fitted to the Prior DIY conservatories have been tested and approved by the BFRC 9 see www.bfrc.org ) and are 'C' rated windows as standard. These are normally better than the existing windows in most homes and we offer these for a very specific reason.
After making huge savings on the cost of the self build, why loose the saving be wasting loads of cash trying to make it habitable in the colder months? These windows do as they say and will save money on your heating bills for the conservatory. In fact, you could go the whole hog and order windows for the rest of your house at the same time as quite a few people have already done.
By doing this you are not assisting Global warming in the same way as you were before, your house will be warmer for less money and which ever way you lokk at it, this has to be a good green way forward, without the tree hugging normally involved!
