PRIOR DIY CONSERVATORIES WITH FRENCH DOORS

Friday May 27, 2011 at 4:43pm

When ordering our DIY conservatories with French doors there are a couple of things to think about. Are the doors going to open in or out? Most of the time, people have them opening out. Next, are there going to be opening toplights in the vacinity of the door arc?

We normally recommend that on open out French doors, you do not have an opening toplight where the door sings round as if caught by a gust of wind, the door leaf will hit and damage the vent. Our doors will open back until the handles touch the conservatory wall.

If you have toplights by your doors, we would recommend that you have the doors fitted with overhed restrictors. These are very unobtrusive and sit on top of each sash and will prevent the doors openeing more than 90 degrees.
