There is such a choice out there these days when it comes to double glazing that many people are not sure of the reasons why most double glazed windows, doors and conservatories are made of uPVC. uPVC used to be thought of a 'cheap' and nasty and a poor substitute for wood or aluminium.
However, the windows on the market today are far and away different from twenty years ago.Take our standard window which we supply to the trade or supply and fit for the general public. These are energy efficient C rated and tested windows approved by the BFRC and labeled accordingly. These windows are proved to save you money on your energy bills.
There are other big advantages over aluminium or wood. Aluminium frames can have condensation problems in the cold weather on the frames - not what you need when it is freezing! Wooden windows need regular maintanence throughout their life and they can expand or contract according to the humidity levels. They can also warp over time.
PVCu has none of these problems. Our Rehau profiles used in our windows does not crack or warp, has a very long lifespan and are maintanence free. The most you will have to do to them is wipe over with a damp cloth and very accasionally put a spot of oil on the locking mechanism. Fit and forget
