With the amount of snow we have had over Christmas and beyond, now that it has cleared, it would be a good idea to get up a step ladder and check the flashing and guttering for any ice or snow damage. Things to look for are cracked gutter brackets which sometimes occur when a large sheet of thawing snow hits the guttering on the way down off the roof.
Also while you are up there, clear the guttering out if you have trees nearby. The chances are that last years' leaves have found their way there. This is also the ideal time to check that the flashing has not been lifted by ice. If it has, gently dress it back into the correct position. Job done for another year!
