Well, what do you expect??? Eurovision on the TV and rain outside... What better time to erect your DIY or self build conservatory!
The ground is softer, the climate is cooler so no better time than now to start digging out your footings Enjoy!
In a couple of days you will have the conservatory you always wanted and can then sit back and say to your partner - I built this, get me another bottle of wine!!
God, life can be so harsh some times!....

With the nights now becoming much warmer extra ventilation is needed. If your windows are fitted with trickle vents they should be left open and provide a background air flow through the rooms.
If you need more air through the house, but are worried about leaving the windows open, particularly the ground floor ones, you can use the night vent facility that all of our windows are provided with.
This enables you to open the window sash to the second position on the metal keeps and the sash can ....

I have just received a letter from Mr and Mrs Daniels from Longborough Road in Leicester... It reads as follows:
When my wife and I ordered the Gable ended conservatory, it seemed great on paper - your supplied CAD images were great! The design was as we expected, but when Richard, your driver pulled up in the truck, we though that we had bitten off more than we could chew, even though we had paid for it! In the 'flesh' it was huge!!

Ash clouds permitting, this is the ideal time to build your DIY conservatory! Not too hot and by no means wet digging your footings should be easy.
Design your conservatory on our superb website, order it, get the base plans, and within three weeks you can be erecting it! Just think, a month from now, you would be sat inside you new conservatory, whatever design you choose, and be toasting the fact that you put it up yourself and saved a fortune on the way.

Something to thinks about is how to cool your conservatory. Our standard self build comes with two supplied opening windows, but if you are erecting yours on a south facing aspect, it would be a good idea to have more fitted.
The rise in temperature on a south facing conservatory can be very rapid in good weather, so ventilation will be essential. Not so bad when you are home and can leave the French doors open, but fully closed up, it will become very hot.

OK, the weather so far has not been what we expected, but you can do something about it! Think about having our energy saving windows installed. This way, it does not matter if it is unseasonably cool - you will benefit from a warm house and low heating bills. See the BFRC information on this site, and stay warm and green!. You will also stay cool when the heat in on outside!....
