When your self build conservatory is delivered to your property, it is important to remember that for ease of handling and erection, the conservatory frames will be unglazed. The glass which is all toughened, requires special treatment until you are ready to install it. Toughened glass is extremely strong when in the frames, but the edges are very delicate when uninstalled. The edges of each unit of glass must be kept well away from the likes of a concrete floor or similar. We recommend that wo....

The trouble with that nice old wooden door on the front of your house is the fact it is made of wood. After a few years of sanding it down and repainting or varnishing it, only to have it swell in wet weather and lock you in the house, isn't it about time you thought of changing it for something more reliable? Our full range of composite doors are quite the reverse. They dont swell up, they dont jam and with a life of well over thirty five years, they are built to last. All are extensively test....

When you purchase one of our self build conservatories, we do not entrust the delivery of it to anyone other than ourselves. As transporting a conservatory and the glass to go in it requires a specially fitted lorry, we always deliver them direct to your door via our own custom fitted truck. The day before we deliver, we always make contact with the customer to give an approximate time of arrival, and to make certain that where the glass is to be stored prior to fitting is suitable. Our attenti....

We are asked why we do not use prefabricated aluminium or steel bases for our self build conservatories. The reasons are quite simple. A well constructed concrete base or well built footings and dwarf wall will hold your conservatory in place for its entire life. Surely, the last thing you want after toiling away building your dream conservatory is to discover in a few years time that it and your house are slowly parting company. Quick and easy bases are just that - but when it matters, they ha....

Now that the snow has melted and the rain is pouring down and softening the ground, it may well be the right time to start digging your footings for your new conservatory. Regardlessof the type of conservatory you are erecting, good groundwork is essential. If your soil is sandy, your footings need to go deep enough to cope with the weight of the finished conservatory fixed to the groundwork. If a full height or full height panel conservatory is to be built, then the base must be level, and aga....
