Just in case you were wondering...

Thursday February 4, 2010 at 3:55pm

We are asked why we do not use prefabricated aluminium or steel bases for our self build conservatories. The reasons are quite simple. A well constructed concrete base or well built footings and dwarf wall will hold your conservatory in place for its entire life.

Surely, the last thing you want after toiling away building your dream conservatory is to discover in a few years time that it and your house are slowly parting company. Quick and easy bases are just that - but when it matters, they have been found to have certain problems. When you have glazed your conservatory and particularly if yours has a glass roof, you will appreciate the weigh involved. Would you realy entrust that weight and all of your hard work to something that is pretty much sat on the surface? Thought not!
