When your self build conservatory is delivered to your property, it is important to remember that for ease of handling and erection, the conservatory frames will be unglazed. The glass which is all toughened, requires special treatment until you are ready to install it.
Toughened glass is extremely strong when in the frames, but the edges are very delicate when uninstalled. The edges of each unit of glass must be kept well away from the likes of a concrete floor or similar. We recommend that wooden battens are placed along the floor area where you intend to store the glass. The units will rest on these leaning back against a wall. Again, the unit of glass that is nearest the wall would also require woo or old carpet behind it to prevent any solid contact with the wall.
Each glass unit that we supply has a number of foam rubber spacers fixed to one face. This is to facilitate stacking the units against each other without scratching or any direct contact occuring. With these few simple precautions, the glass will be in perfect condition when you come to fit it.
