Air conditioning units for your conservatory

Wednesday July 8, 2009 at 2:03pm

No matter what style of conservatory you have, the ability to heat and cool it as the seasons dictate is a must. This is especially the case if you are growing exotic plants in it and require precise control of the internal environment.

Prior Conservatories offer a range of air conditioning units to achieve this end. There are five main points to consider when purchasing an aircon unit; dehumidifying, heating, air cleaning, cooling and economy.

Dehumidifying is important to allergy sufferers as this function reduces the overall humidity in cooling mode, which much reduces the presence of allergens and dustmites, mould spores etc. A general feeling of freshness and wellbeing is also created. Also, the electrical fittings in the conservatory benefit from a prolonged life due to the stable atmosphere.

Cooling is also a vital feature when you have a South facing conservatory. Especially when we in the UK suffer as much a five days of real heat each year, the cooling feature makes life extremely bareable. As you sit in your garden room, achieving a constant temperature is easy.

Heating: Similarly, you can use the conservatory all year round no matter what the elements are plotting outside. Rather than extending the existing house central heating into the conservatory with all of the attendant plumbing required, our self contained units draw heat in from the outside even in cold conditions, making them very economical to run.

When it comes to filtering the air, all of our units incorporate filters which remove smoke particles, dust and pollen in the air. There are various levels of filtration can be varied according to your needs. Used as intended, our air conditioning units are an economical and very useful addition to any conservatory. All feature timers, remote control, power saving mode, and  most are powered by a standard 13 amp power outlet.
