Always calculate your internal floor size when ordering a conservatory. Most conservatory companies will quote you for the external area, but it's the internal floor area most people are interested in. Get about three quotations but don't go for the cheapest quotation. The cheapest supplier will rarely give you the best product or service. Depending on the shape of the conservatory, it is generally not advised to put doors in the front of the conservatory, as it creates a corridor, wh....

The Lean-To style is ideal for those who prefere the clean understated lines of a Mediterranean sunroom. The design is simple but very versatile and can take in to account problems such as limits on the house wall height, for example, that of a bungalow, and can also be re designed to accommodate a higher walled house by increasing the pitch of the roof. ....

In a word “YES” but its not going to be the easiest of jobs. To start with you need to go back to the original firm that you purchased it from and then give them the option to quote for the work. This is for a number of reasons, they will have your original drawings and will be aware of any system upgrades from the profile company that you have decided to have an upgrade from. I would say however in most cases it is far easier to take the orignal one down and start again. The complexities of jo....

PVCu versus Aluminium for Bi Fold Doors There are alternative materials that can be used in the manufacture of Bifold Doors but in our opinion the optimum material is Aluminium. We list our reasons below why we think PVCu is a distant second for your consideration. Bifold Doors require very accurate sizes to be manufactured. When joining PVCu section by fusion welding there is always a greater degree of finished size tolerance compared with Aluminium. PVCu is known to expand and contract ....

Bi Fold provides high-quality, secure aluminum bi fold doors that are unlike any other product on the market, today. While patio doors are comparable for use with larger apertures, patio door designs cannot provide the same amount of space behind an entry. Instead, they deliver, on average, 66 percent remaining clear opening space, while bi fold doors deliver maximum accessibility at 90 percent. Therefore, a standard four-metre wide bi fold door provides 3600mm remaining openi....

Most but not all conservatories will sit quite happily on a simple concrete slab base that will serve both as a foundation and floor structure. If the ground is covered by a deep layer of topsoil it will be better to dig trench foundations down into the natural subsoil. Even with foundations under your walls you will still need to support the floor slab on a sound base and the construction of a conservatory is no different in this. Ground-bearing conservatory bases are usually in the region of 1....
